Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir said that para-swimmer Jendi Pangabean is an inspiration for the nation's generation to achieve achievements that will bring honor to Indonesia on the international stage.
"Through the inspiring story of Indonesian para-swimmer Jendi Pangabean, we learn that success comes from consistency, discipline, and daily hard work," wrote Erick Thohir on his official social media account, which was monitored in Jakarta on Monday.
At the 2025 ASEAN Para Games which took place in Thailand from January 20-26, 2026, the Indonesian archery branch successfully won 29 gold medals in the 2025 ASEAN Para Games Thailand.
This success was achieved thanks to the contribution of Jendi Pangabean who won seven gold medals in the men's 100 meter backstroke S9, men's 100 meter butterfly S9, and 50 meter butterfly S9.
