The artificial intelligence (AI)-based Quran learning app, ngaji.ai, saw a twofold surge in usage and downloads during the Ramadan period, in line with Muslim worship activities during the holy month.
Vokal.ai Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) Fara Abdullah said Ramadan has always been the most crucial period for Muslim lifestyle apps, including ngaji.ai.
"Ramadan is the most important period for us. Typically, in the Muslim (app) industry, the spike can be up to fivefold. For ngaji.ai, even just one week before Ramadan, we've seen a nearly twofold increase in both usage and downloads," Fara said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He explained that the first week of Ramadan is typically the peak period for app growth. Therefore, the company is targeting a fivefold increase this Ramadan.
According to Fara, Muslim lifestyle apps are seasonal, with user activity spikes significantly during certain months, particularly Ramadan. This increase not only affects the number of downloads but also the duration of app use.
