Interim world champion in the bridger (101.6 kg) weight class, Georgiy Yunovidov, is set to face Vartan Arutyunyan in the main event in Russia on February 14 to defend his title.
"The winner of this fight will have a great opportunity to advance to the fight for the WBA regular bridgeweight title, currently held by another Russian boxer, Muslim Gadzhimagomedov," the WBA reported on its official website, as monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday.
This high-stakes fight will take place in Chelyabinsk, a major Russian city near the border with Kazakhstan. The fight is expected to be a fascinating clash of styles between two Russian boxers seeking momentum in the professional boxing division.
Yunovidov enters this fight as the interim champion looking to defend his belt. The 33-year-old boasts a professional record of 11 wins and one loss, with seven of those wins by KO/TKO, showcasing a potent combination of technique and power in the ring.
Known for his technical, patient, and measured fighting style, Yunovidov has demonstrated physical endurance and tactical acumen in every fight.
He won the interim title after a spectacular victory over Evgeny Romanov, when he won the belt via TKO in 2025.
