Gettys returns to the Knights, deadly duo with Barkley ready to ignite
The Bengawan Solo Knights have once again called up foreign player Chancellor James "CJ" Gettys to strengthen the team in the second half of the Indonesian Basketball League (2026) season, thus rekindling their deadly duet with Kentrell Barkley.

The IBL website reported on Saturday that the center played for Kesatria in the 2024 season and impressed in the club's debut in Indonesia's top-tier basketball competition.

Gettys was brought in in mid-April 2024 to replace foreign player Jason Copman. His arrival immediately had a positive impact on the team's performance.

Together with another foreign player, Kentrell Barkley, Gettys formed a duet that became the driving force of the team's game.

Their collaboration even led the team to record nine consecutive wins that season.

But that momentum was halted when Barkley was sidelined with an injury, leaving Gettys to carry the team's load almost single-handedly until the end of the season.

Statistically, Gettys' contributions remain outstanding. In 21 games with the Knights, including three playoff games , he averaged 16.2 points per game (ppg), 10.2 rebounds per game (rpg), and 3.9 assists per game (apg).

Field shooting accuracy was 53.2 percent, three-point shooting accuracy was 45.6 percent, and free throw accuracy was 70.1 percent.
