Google has started displaying warning labels for apps deemed to drain device batteries in the Google Play Store app store.
As reported by Engadget on Friday, this step was previously announced by Google and has been implemented gradually since March 1.
The label will notify users if an app has the potential to consume more battery power when it remains running in the background even when not in use.
The label warns, “This app may use more battery than expected due to high background activity.”
Google stated that the labels will not appear immediately on all devices as the rollout will be gradual to affected apps over the next few weeks.
