The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) management attended the MotoGP event at the Thailand Circuit as part of a strategic agenda to improve the quality of the Indonesian MotoGP event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on October 9-11, 2026.
"We are not here to watch the race, but to conduct operational and motorsport benchmarking and official meetings with the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the International Road-Racing Teams Association (IRTA), and the MotoGP Sport and Entertainment Group," said MGPA Vice President of Motorsport Donny Mahardjono in a written statement in Mataram, Monday.
He said the MGPA team's presence at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand was to coordinate with the FIM from the Operational and Motorsport side, specifically with the FIM Team Safety Officer, Mr. Bartolome Alfonso, regarding the fulfillment of homologation requirements for MotoGP in Mandalika.
