Middle Eastern athletes and officials stranded in Indonesia due to conflict
The Indonesian Fencing Association  has reported that a number of athletes, officials, and federation administrators from Middle Eastern countries are still stranded in Indonesia after participating in the 2026 Asian Cadet and Junior Fencing Championships  due to the conflict in the region.

"Their return was scheduled  but those who were already at Soekarno-Hatta Airport could not return because there were no flights due to the impact of the war between Iran and the United States and Israel," said Secretary General of PB IKASI Firtian Judiswandarta in an official statement.

Judiswandarta explained that the participants in the championship that were still on hold consisted of 23 athletes from Saudi Arabia, five athletes and officials from Qatar, and two fencing federation officials from Iraq and Uzbekistan.
