The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has decided not to send athletes to the BWF series of tournaments taking place in Cuba and Brazil.
The 2026 Brasil International Challenge is scheduled to take place from March 24-29, while the 2026 Cuba International Challenge is scheduled to take place from March 31-April 5.
"PBSI has decided not to send athletes to the series of tournaments in Cuba and Brazil after considering several factors," said PBSI's Head of Foreign Affairs, Bambang Roedyanto, as quoted in an official statement.
PBSI decided not to send representatives from the Red and White because the current security situation in Cuba is considered less than conducive.
"Furthermore, there is currently no certainty regarding several transit flight options through the Middle East," said Bambang.
"Therefore, PBSI has chosen to focus its athletes' competition program on other tournaments that are more effective in supporting their preparation and performance," he added.
