The Boston Celtics are set to lose center Nikola Vucevic for at least four weeks in the 2025-2026 NBA season after the player suffered a broken ring finger on his right hand during a game against the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA website reported Saturday that Vucevic, who was acquired from the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline, only played for two minutes before leaving the court with a hand injury.
Midway through the game, the Celtics then updated the injury report for the Montenegro player to "out," after the medical team confirmed a broken finger.
The player is scheduled to undergo a medical procedure to address the injury.
The recovery process is expected to keep him out for approximately four weeks.
Vucevic's absence is a blow for the Celtics, even though Jayson Tatum has returned to strengthen the team.
