Indonesian men's doubles badminton players Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin secured their ticket to the second round of the 2026 All England after defeating South Korean pair Kang Min Hyuk/Ki Dong Ju in a dramatic rubber game, 17-21, 21-12, 21-19 at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, Birmingham, Wednesday morning WIB.
Raymond/Joaquin's move also made them the first Indonesian representatives to secure a ticket to the second round after other representatives of the Red and White team, namely Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, stumbled in the first round.
"We're definitely grateful to God for being able to finish the match unscathed and still winning. In the first game, we weren't used to the windy conditions on the court, so we couldn't control ourselves," Raymond said, as quoted by PBSI.
