A US-Israeli attack on Sunday targeted a building in the Iranian capital, Tehran, that houses the office.
The Qatar-based channel stated in a post on the “X” platform that a building housing its office in Tehran was attacked, noting that its employees in the office are in good condition.
the channel showed that the second and third floors, where its office is located, were completely destroyed.
Search and rescue teams arrived at the attack site to take the necessary measures.
The footage showed shattered windows and doors inside the building housing the canal, along with significant damage to a number of buildings and vehicles in its vicinity.
The attack occurred while channel staff were preparing for a live broadcast. Technical equipment inside the office was damaged, but no deaths or injuries were reported.
Staff evacuated some of the damaged equipment, such as stands and cameras, by lowering them by ropes from the balconies.
Tehran, Hazem Kallas, said the building was directly targeted by a drone.
He added: “The attack was carried out directly from the western side of the building. We were on the fourth and fifth floors and on the eastern side, so we escaped without injuries, but if we had been in our usual positions, we would likely have lost our lives. The third floor, where the studio is located, was completely damaged.”
Klass confirmed that the building is located within a completely residential area and that there are no military installations in it.
He added: “The area surrounding our building is entirely residential, and the building itself contained a barbershop, a cafe, a dental clinic, and a physiotherapy clinic.”
Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been waging a war on Iran that has killed hundreds of people, most notably Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials, while Tehran responds by launching missiles and drones towards Israel.
Iran also targets what it says are American sites and interests in Arab countries, but some attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries, and have damaged civilian property, which has been condemned by the targeted countries.
