MediaTek prepares Dimensity 9600 chip

MediaTek is reportedly preparing the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9600 Pro, chipsets with 2nm fabrication technology that are expected to be launched in late 2026.

Gizmochina reported  that informant Digital Chat Station (DCS) revealed the performance improvements offered by the Dimensity 9600 in a post on the Weibo platform.

According to DCS, the Dimensity 9600 is likely to use a dual ultra-core CPU setup .

The chipset is reportedly capable of reaching peak clock speeds of up to 5GHz, which puts it at a new level in mobile processor performance.

The architecture is expected to use a 2+3+3 configuration, with two high-performance main cores to handle heavy tasks.

Additionally, the chipset is expected to be built using TSMC's N2P fabrication process, which is claimed to reduce power consumption by 25–30 percent.
