The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is working to improve data security governance

The Ministry of Communication and Digital  is implementing three steps to improve data security governance in an effort to build digital resilience.

As quoted in a press statement confirmed , Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Ismail, conveyed the need for a more comprehensive approach in dealing with cyber threats and misuse of personal data.

In an effort to improve data security, he explained, the government first drafted supporting policies and regulations that included laws, government regulations, presidential regulations, and ministerial regulations.

Second, the government plays the role of orchestrator, coordinating various activities related to data utilization and security, as well as the development of a national digital ecosystem involving multiple stakeholders.

Third, the government is investing in strategic sectors that cannot be fully handled by business actors, such as developing digital talent, strengthening digital infrastructure, and improving connectivity in remote areas.

"The cost of maintaining security may seem enormous. However, when a security breach occurs within a company, the impact can shatter long-established foundations. Reputation is at stake, and this is not something to be taken lightly," Ismail said at the R17 Podcast Show (RPS) Vol. 04 event, "Shaping Secure Data Intelligence for Digital Resilience,".
