Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka met with the Indonesian Hockey Federation (IHF) to discuss government support in helping the national hockey team reach the international stage.
According to an official statement received Vice President Gibran emphasized in a meeting with the Indonesian Hockey Federation (FHI) that, in accordance with President Prabowo's directive, sporting achievements must be supported by a robust ecosystem.
As a concrete step, the Vice President will encourage cross-sector collaboration to support the athletes' preparation.
"The government will help. In accordance with the Vice President's directive, the government will seek funding solutions through sponsorship and foster parent schemes, both from the strategic roles of state-owned enterprises and the private sector," said FHI Secretary General Yasser Arafat Suaidy after a meeting at the Vice President's Palace.
During the meeting, the Vice President also asked the athletes to remain focused and achieve, and to prepare themselves thoroughly for the upcoming competition.
"We are asked to remain focused, achieve, and defend our gold medals and achieve even greater success," Yasser said.
