Eight people were injured in a pile-up on the Becakayu Toll Road

 



  A pile-up involving three cars occurred on the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu  toll road at KM 07.400, Lane B towards Cawang, East Jakarta, Saturday morning, resulting in eight people being injured.

​Head of the PJR Unit of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate, AKBP Reiki Indra Brata Manggala, in his statement , confirmed the traffic accident that occurred.

"It's true that a multiple-vehicle accident occurred on the Becakayu Toll Road. Eight injured victims have been evacuated to Harum Kalimalang Hospital for medical treatment," Reiki said.

​Based on the chronological report of the incident from Kainduk 7 Sat PJR Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKP Ade Trisula, the accident began when a white Toyota Altis sedan with police number B 1342 BES was driving from Bekasi towards Cawang.

​Upon arrival at the scene of the crime , the sedan driver with the initials IGM (30) is suspected of driving his vehicle at maximum speed until he lost control.

As a result, the sedan hit a white Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle with police number B 2997 TJB driven by AL (38) and a black Toyota Vellfire unit with police number B 2457 SMJ.

"Preliminary analysis from officers in the field, the Altis sedan driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling at high speed, resulting in it crashing into two other vehicles in front of him," said Ade Trisula in his statement.

Police officers from the Traffic Police Unit of the  Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate together with the toll road management immediately went to the scene of the incident to conduct a crime scene investigation, regulate traffic flow, and evacuate vehicles to prevent long traffic jams.
