Netherlands crush Sweden 5-1

 




  The Netherlands celebrated their goal-fest by crushing Sweden 5-1 in their 2026 World Cup Group F match at NRG Stadium in Houston early Sunday morning WIB.

Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo each scored two goals, while Crysencio Summerville also scored. Sweden reduced the deficit with a goal from Anthony Elanga.

This victory moved the Netherlands up to first place in Group F of the 2026 World Cup with four points from two matches. Sweden dropped to second place with three points.

The Netherlands took an early lead after just five minutes thanks to Brian Brobbey's goal after receiving a pass from Cody Gakpo.

Brobbey scored his second goal after utilizing Denzel Dumfries' pass in the 17th minute.

Sweden tried to come back to reduce the deficit, one of which was through Viktor Gyokeres' effort, but the ball was blocked by Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
