Brazilian national team player Matheus Cunha was very proud after scoring two goals in his squad's 3-0 victory over Haiti in the 2026 World Cup Group C match at Philadelphia Stadium, United States, Saturday WIB.
Those two goals were the first World Cup goals of Cunha's career. The Manchester United player was fielded as a starter by Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti in that match .
"This is one of the best days of my life. Everyone dreams of representing Brazil at the World Cup. And to think I scored two goals and helped the team, I'm truly overjoyed; it feels like a dream," said Cunha, as quoted on the official FIFA website.
Ancelotti's decision to start Cunha proved to have a positive impact on Brazil's attacking play against Haiti, especially in the first half when the Selecao were very aggressive and scored all three goals.
