The Attorney General's Office proposed an additional budget of IDR 28.151 trillion in 2027

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office (AGO) has proposed an additional budget of Rp28.151 trillion in 2027, out of the total indicative budget ceiling set by the Ministry of Finance and Bappenas of Rp15.495 trillion.

"The indicative allocation for 2027 does not meet the Attorney General's ideal needs, which is Rp43.65 trillion," said Deputy Attorney General for Prosecutor's Office Development Hendro Dewanto in a meeting with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday.

Hendro explained that the proposed additional budget would be allocated to support the implementation of the Attorney General's Office's duties and functions, namely the legal enforcement and service program (Rp11.388 trillion) and the management support program (Rp16.763 trillion).

The law enforcement and service program covers intelligence (Rp149.86 billion), general crimes (Rp63.66 billion), special crimes (Rp188.74 billion), civil and state administrative law (Rp59.07 billion), military crimes (Rp26.4 billion), asset recovery (Rp45.4 billion), and legal facilities (Rp10.85 trillion).

The management support program consists of development (Rp. 5.69 trillion), supervision (Rp. 20.97 billion), education and training (Rp. 238.83 billion), and facilities and infrastructure (Rp. 10.81 trillion).

Hendro said the additional budget was proposed because the indicative budget for the Indonesian Attorney General's Office for the 2027 fiscal year was insufficient to meet the institution's needs.

The Prosecutor's Office initially proposed an allocation of Rp. 43,646,627,578,000, while the approved indicative ceiling was Rp. 15,495,000,000,000.

Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) stated that it would support this proposal. Consequently, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office's budget for 2027 is projected to be Rp43,646,627,578,000.

At the meeting, Hendro also explained the realization of the Attorney General's Office budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

According to him, the total budget absorption reached IDR 10.685 trillion or 51.37 percent of the budget ceiling of IDR 20.8 trillion.

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office's non-tax state revenue (PNBP) realization in the first half of this year reached Rp4.1 trillion, or 119.02 percent of the total target (Rp3.509 trillion), Hendro said.

Based on the meeting results, Commission III supports the use of proceeds from asset recovery and the return of state financial losses included in PNBP to be allocated to the 2027 Attorney General's Office budget.
