The Corruption Eradication Commission  requested data related to three corporate suspects when questioning the Director of Coal Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Asep Permana, as a witness .

"Investigators are requesting, among other things, data on coal production in metric tons related to the corporate suspects," KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to Budi, the data and testimony from Asep Permana complement those of previous witnesses in the investigation into the alleged bribery case related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. The three corporate suspects are PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Barapratama, and PT Bara Kumala Sakti.

"To complement previous statements, investigators also confirmed and compared PNBP (non-tax state revenue) data from the production of metric tons of coal," he said.

Meanwhile, he explained that the PNBP that KPK investigators are currently investigating is related to hauling or transporting mining materials and the use of jetties or docks used to transport coal.

"Because there is a PNBP that must be paid by companies carrying out activities in the mining sector," he continued.

This case began with the determination of Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari, President Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima Hery Susanto Gun, and Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama Khairudin as suspects in alleged gratification on September 28, 2017.

Rita is suspected of accepting a bribe of IDR 6 billion related to the granting of a location permit for a palm oil plantation to PT Sawit Golden Prima in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District.

On January 16, 2018, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) again named Rita and Khairudin as suspects in an alleged money laundering case.

During the investigation, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized 91 vehicles, various valuable items, five plots of land totaling thousands of square meters, and 30 luxury watches of various brands. The seizures were announced on June 6, 2024.
