The Provincial Government has prepared a number of public infrastructure inauguration agendas and environmental initiatives to celebrate the 499th anniversary of City, which will take place on June 21-22, 2026.
The series of events is part of an effort to strengthen city connectivity, improve environmental quality, and provide infrastructure to support citizen mobility towards as a global city.
Governor Pramono Anung invited all residents to enjoy and maintain the new facilities presented in the capital's public spaces.
"A progressive is not only built by the government, but is maintained together by all its citizens," Pramono said in his statement.
Meanwhile, Chair of the City's 499th Anniversary Committee, Suharini Eliawati, explained that this year's celebration is an important momentum in demonstrating concrete steps in transformation as it approaches its fifth century.
"Through regional planning, strengthening a culture of environmental awareness, and developing integrated infrastructure, we aim to create a city that is increasingly comfortable, modern, and competitive for all residents," said Suharini, who also serves as Assistant for Economic and Financial Affairs to the Provincial Secretary.
