The Indonesian junior badminton team has officially been released for the 2026 BAJC

The Indonesian junior badminton team was officially sent off for the 2026 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC) at a send-off ceremony at the Cipayung national training center.

A total of 26 athletes will represent the Red and White badminton team in the championship which will take place on June 26-30 for the team event and July 1-5 for the individual event in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto, Japan.

"Today we are sending off 26 junior athletes to the 2026 Badminton Asia Junior Championships. They are the best athletes ready to represent Indonesia," said PBSI Secretary General Ricky Soebagdja in an official statement.

"I'm telling you that everything has been good since the call-up and preparations here. It's just a matter of showing it on the field. We must show our enthusiasm and fighting spirit, and always give our best," Ricky added.

Meanwhile, team manager Eskar Denatara revealed that the team, which is a combination of national and club athletes, is technically and physically ready, but also needs psychological care, which will be assisted by the PBSI psychology team.

"This is indeed the 30th day of the training camp, but I think the children have adapted quite well. They quickly adjusted to the conditions here, of course with high-intensity training. There is also a burden there, responsibility because they are defending the Red and White. But overall , we see the children can adapt well, in terms of technical and physical preparation, they are at their maximum. All that remains is to maintain their mental condition on the 7 days before," said Eskar.

Eskar explained that this year, PBSI is fully engaging its talent scouting team in BAJC 2026, from selection to match support. These include Hendrawan and Bambang Suprianto, whose goal is to assess the Asian competition and Indonesia's position.
