Dr. Tatiana Feldbusch, an ear, nose and throat specialist, stated that headphones can damage the ears when listening to loud music for extended periods.

According to her, the risk of hearing loss and tinnitus can arise with both wired and wireless devices. The health effects appear when listening to music at volume levels exceeding 85 decibels, especially in noisy places such as public transportation, airplanes, and gyms.

The specialist recommends following the "60/60 rule" to reduce this risk - listening to music through headphones for no more than 60 minutes continuously, and using a volume level that does not exceed 60% of the maximum

She says: "If a person has to use headphones for long periods, it is better and safer to use oversized headphones or noise-isolating headphones, as the person does not want to raise the volume too high when using them."

Dr. Dmitry Gorin, an ear, nose, and throat specialist, advises listening to music through headphones for no more than two hours continuously. He recommends starting at a low volume and gradually increasing it to a comfortable level. If you can't hear others while listening to music, you should lower the volume.
