Indonesian women's doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari maintained their positive momentum by advancing to the second round of the BWF World Tour Super 750 Japan Open 2026 in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday.
Ana/Trias eliminated the Taiwanese pair Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun in two straight games 21-16, 21-8 in the round of 32.
"Thank God, today went well, we won without injury. At the start of the first game, we played according to our opponent's pattern," said Trias in an official PBSI statement after the match.
The Indonesian pair struggled to develop their game early in the first game, caught in their opponent's pattern. After the interval, Ana/Trias changed the tempo and began to take control of the match
"After the interval in the first game, we changed our pattern, changing the tempo, and didn't follow their pattern. It worked quite well, and we continued in the second game. We were able to anticipate an opponent who played a lot of long plays," said Ana.
