Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Israel is currently looking for a new enemy to change its destructive image, which has been condemned by the international community, stressing that confrontation is not a problem for his country.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed that Ankara is not afraid to confront any party that conflicts with its national or regional interests.
Fidan's remarks came during his participation in the "Night Vision" (Gece Görüşü) program broadcast by CNN TÜRK , where he discussed Israeli politics, the repercussions of the war in the region, and Turkey's position on regional developments.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed that Israel had hidden its policies for years behind what he described as the "illusion" adopted by the West, adding that this policy has become unsustainable today after it lost its ability to convince global public opinion.
He said: “Israel has hidden this policy behind a kind of illusion, and the West has agreed to adopt this illusion. But when that policy became unsustainable in the eyes of humanity, and could no longer convince or deceive people, everyone found themselves facing dangers.”
Fidan pointed out that the international scene is witnessing an unprecedented wave of criticism of Israel, considering that this is due to what he described as massacres being committed openly, as well as its role in destabilizing the region.
He added: “Around the world, from universities to newspapers and intellectual platforms, an unprecedented wave of anti-Israel sentiment has arisen. Why? Because they commit massacres in full view of everyone, and openly play a destabilizing role everywhere. Previously, they could hide this through some simple media maneuvers, but today they can no longer hide it.”
Fidan believes that Israel is currently trying to reshape its image by searching for a new enemy, saying: "Israel is currently seeking a new enemy in order to change this destructive image that has become the subject of condemnation from the international community. During my visits to various places, this question is posed to me, and I answer: Israel is trying to create an enemy for itself."
The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed that his country would not hesitate to confront any party if its policies conflicted with Turkish interests, emphasizing that confrontation itself was not a source of concern for Ankara.
He said: "As long as Israel or any other party is at odds with our national and regional interests, there is nothing that would make us fear, hesitate, or back down in the face of anyone. We have no problem with that. Confrontation is not a problem for us."
Fidan stressed that the issue does not concern Turkey alone, but rather represents, as he described it, a global crisis that transcends bilateral disputes, adding: "The real problem is that Israel is not just my problem, but the world's problem. This must be said in this way. Israel is not just Turkey's problem, and it is not just President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's issue. Our president's loud opposition to it is another matter, but this is an issue that concerns all of humanity."
