The Gresini Racing team announced the signing of two riders, Joan Mir and Daniel Holgado, who will compete for the team in the 2027 MotoGP season.
The presence of Mir and Holgado also ensures that the future of Fermin Aldeguer and Alex Marquez will definitely not be with Gresini Racing.
"Starting next year, a lot will change, but the core of the Gresini Racing MotoGP Team will remain the same. We continue to grow as a team season after season, and in 2027 we will do so with two riders we have great confidence in and are ready to fully support," said Gresini Racing CEO Nadia Padovani in an official statement from Gresini Racing .
Nadia Padovani said she has been monitoring Holgado, who is currently in Moto2, for quite some time. She believes the young rider has significant potential and potential that can be developed further.
Meanwhile, regarding Joan Mir, Nadia Padovani believes that the 2020 world champion will have a significant impact, especially with his experience and champion mentality.
"For both of them, we want to be a constant reference point. We will continue racing together with Ducati Corse, which over the years has proven to be a reliable and winning partner, and we are very happy about this," said Nadia.
In addition to announcing Mir and Holgado, the iconic sky blue team is also confirmed to be part of Ducati, which has been their vehicle supplier for the past few seasons.
