Janice/Aldila beat the hosts to advance to the second round of Wimbledon

Indonesian women's doubles pair Janice Tjen/Aldila Sutjiadi advanced to the second round of Wimbledon after defeating the home pair Harriet Dart/Maia Lumsden with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in the first round at the All England Club, London.

Janice/Aldila needed just 1 hour and 30 minutes to overcome the resistance of the British pair and avenge the defeat they suffered to the same opponents in the Nottingham Open semifinals a few weeks ago.

The Indonesian pair were more effective from the start. After winning the opening game of the first set, Janice/Aldila went on a roll, winning three consecutive games to take a 4-1 lead.

They then maintained their lead until they closed the first set with a score of 6-3.

In the second set, Janice/Aldila again dominated. They broke their opponents' serve in the first game and maintained their momentum to take a 4-2 lead.

Although Dart/Lumsden managed to narrow the deficit to 4-5, the Indonesian pair remained calm and secured victory by winning the 10th game and securing the second set 6-4.
