The Anbar Governorate Police Command announced the arrest of a suspect in possession of weapons, 34 forged government seals, and 72 forged compensation transactions.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the Anbar Police Command, through the Habbaniyah Police Department, carried out a security operation based on accurate intelligence information and after obtaining judicial approvals, which resulted in the arrest of the accused (Y.A.H.) who was involved in forging compensation transactions and possessing forged government seals.
The statement added that a search of the accused's home resulted in the seizure of 34 forged government seals, 72 forged compensation transactions, along with quantities of weapons, ammunition, explosives, military supplies and communication devices.
The ministry confirmed that the necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, and that all materials were seized in accordance with a seizure report.
This comes as Iraqi authorities have been waging a violent arrest campaign since last Sunday, targeting officials involved in corruption.
