South Korean technology giant LG Electronics posted a record-high preliminary profit for the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, the company said in a statement.
Preliminary operating profit surged 146.9 percent from a year earlier to 1.58 trillion won (1 won = Rp11.75) in the April-June quarter.
Preliminary revenue rose 14.9 percent to 23.83 trillion won in the quarter.
Both revenue and profit posted the highest figures for the second quarter in the company's history.
LG explained that the record achievement came as the company's flagship businesses, such as home appliances and televisions, saw sales increase amid rising air conditioner (AC) sales in overseas markets, offsetting concerns about uncertainty in the Middle East.
Net income and detailed earnings for each business unit will be announced this month.
