He explained the strategic function of this infrastructure, emphasizing that dams play a multifunctional role in supporting the livelihoods of the wider community in the long term.
PT Nindya Karya is strengthening its contribution in supporting the government's national strategic agenda in the fields of irrigation and food security. This concrete step is demonstrated by the completion of the construction of two important dams included in a series of 5 dam inaugurations by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on Friday, July 10, 2026.
The five dams inaugurated are the Jlantah Dam in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java; the Meninting Dam in West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara; the Sidan Dam in Gianyar Regency, Bali; the Keureuto Dam in North Aceh Regency, Aceh; and the Rukoh Dam in Pidie Regency, Aceh.
Of the five dams inaugurated by the President, two are projects undertaken by Nindya Karya. These are the Meninting Dam in West Nusa Tenggara Province and the Rukoh Dam in Pidie Regency, Aceh Province.
Technically, the Meninting Dam, developed by Nindya Karya, has a capacity of 9.91 million m³. This infrastructure is designed to irrigate 1,559 hectares, supply 0.15 m³/second of raw water, reduce flood risk in an area of 59 hectares, and has the potential to generate environmentally friendly energy through a 0.80 MW hydroelectric power plant and a 9.23 MW floating solar power plant.
Meanwhile, the Rukoh Dam in Aceh also provides a massive water storage capacity that is relied upon to strengthen the regional agricultural irrigation system.
President Director of PT Nindya Karya (Persero) Firmansyah, stated his readiness to fully support the success of priority national development programs, particularly in strengthening the foundations of water, food, and energy security initiated by the government.
