In his acceptance speech, the NBA superstar said the event served as a reminder of the importance of continuing to invest in children's futures.
"Oakland has given us so much love, support and encouragement, and we want to continue to give back to the community that has embraced us since our inception in 2009," Curry told the NBA website on Thursday.
In a statement from the NBA, Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, who founded the humanitarian organization in 2019, are considered to have made a social impact on many children in Oakland through educational programs, nutrition, and healthy play activities.
