Undana Medical Alumni urge police to thoroughly investigate Dr. Icha's death

The alumni association of the Faculty of Medicine of Nusa Cendana University  Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, urged the police to thoroughly investigate the death of doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni alias doctor Icha, which is suspected to have been the result of intimidation by members of the North Central Timor Regency DPRD.

"We are asking the National Police Chief to form a special, yet independent, team to handle this case and to disclose the results of the investigation openly to the public," said Dr. Bilberton, a representative of the Undana Medical Faculty Alumni Association, during a press conference at the Undana Medical Faculty Dean's Building.

According to him, there were a number of events that occurred before Dr. Icha's death so that the police were asked to thoroughly investigate the case.

The police were also asked to question three members of the North Central Timor Regency DPRD who were suspected of intimidating Dr. Icha, causing her to become depressed and commit suicide.

"We also asked the police to examine the three of them to uncover this case," he said.

He also asked the public in NTT, including the mass media, to monitor this case so that it is publicly disclosed.

Meanwhile, another Undana Medical Faculty alumnus, Dr. Eky Gonang, added that parties suspected of knowing or having links to the case should also be summoned and questioned regardless of their positions.

His party will not remain silent if there are attempts to cover up the case of Dr. Icha's death due to alleged intimidation by members of the North Central Timor DPRD.

Not only that, they also urged the North Central Timor Regency DPRD's Ethics Council to investigate the alleged ethical violations committed by three DPRD members by intimidating Dr. Icha while on duty.
