It has been shown how you can check if the chilli powder you are using is adulterated with brick dust, sand or talc powder. The special thing about this method is that for this you will need only 1 glass of water.

After purchasing red chili powder from the market, be sure to check its quality. You can try two methods, the steps for which are described below.
1. Water – 1 glass, 2. Spoon-1, 3. Newspaper- 1, 4. Gloves-1

- Process to determine the quality of red chilli from water
- To check the quality of red chilli powder, take a glass of water.
- Now add one spoon chilli powder to it.
- If the chilli powder slowly floats up and turns red in colour, then it is pure.
- If the chilli starts losing its colour rapidly in water and settles at the bottom, then understand that it is adulterated.

Identify its purity from the newspaper
You can also determine the quality of red chili by rubbing it on your palm. However, this method is a bit risky. In such a case, you can try the newspaper method. It's worth noting that this method  is not recommended by FSSAI, but it can indicate the purity of chili powder. Learn how below.
