The New Cairo Primary Court decided to postpone the hearing of the lawsuit regarding legal fees filed against the star of the Egyptian national team and Trabzonspor, Mohamed Salah, until October 4, after he failed to attend today’s session on Sunday.
The court has scheduled today’s session for Mohamed Salah to attend in person and take the decisive oath, after determining the wording of the oath, which includes denying that the lawyer carried out the actions in question, or that the player has any financial dues to him.
The court explained that Salah’s failure to attend, or his refusal to take the oath without an acceptable excuse, constitutes a refusal to take it, and entails the legal consequences stipulated by law.
The case dates back to a lawsuit filed by lawyer Amr Faragallah Morsi Abdel-Tawab against Mohamed Salah, demanding financial dues that he said were in return for legal, administrative and consulting work he provided to the player during a previous period.
According to the case documents, the lawyer is demanding that the former Liverpool star be obligated to pay financial fees for legal, administrative, and consulting work that he said he had undertaken on his behalf, in addition to compensation for material and moral damages that he said he suffered as a result of not receiving his dues.
The claims also included compensation of 255,000 Egyptian pounds (approximately five thousand dollars), as well as obligating the player to pay expenses and legal fees.
The plaintiff based his claim on a general power of attorney in legal matters, which he said Salah issued in his favor on July 20, 2012, and which remained in effect until the lawyer withdrew from him in August 2025.
