An Israeli comedian has angered Druze Arabs in the Galilee and Carmel within the 1948 territories by comparing their flag to the LGBT flag in terms of colors, ignoring the fact that these colors symbolize five prophets.

Israeli comedian Shachar Hasson posted a satirical skit on TikTok in which he discussed the colors of the Druze flag and its similarity to the LGBTQ+ flag. In the video, which sparked outrage among Palestinian Druze, Hasson stated that "the LGBTQ+ flag and the Druze flag share the same colors."
He continued“Do you realize what happened? The Druze flag has existed since 1100, while the LGBTQ+ flag appeared in 1978. In 1974, a group of gay men in San Francisco organized and designed this colorful flag. Imagine what happened then. When they set about designing the LGBTQ+ flag, the Druze community surely thought to themselves: We are obligated to send a messenger to persuade them to stop this striking similarity between the two flags. While they were sitting there, the sheikh of the community entered and said: I have tried everything, but in vain; their flag will be just like ours. At that point, one of the Druze leaders at the meeting lowered his mustache to the middle of the flagpole and said: We must confront these colors.”
The head of the Druze Lawyers Forum, lawyer Samer Ali, commented “This is not entertainment, but rather an insult to the Druze, not funny, but disgusting. This is a pathetic display that does not take into account the sensitivity of this mockery, which comes out of greed for fame and popularity at the expense of people. I say to Shahar: This is rudeness, especially when you speak about a sheikh with a mustache and about a sheikh leader in a despicable way.”
Samer Ali continued his criticism of the satirical Israeli show, denying that it constituted art or entertainment. He said, “We have never insulted anyone’s religion, and we will not allow a charlatan like Shachar to insult our religion and heritage. What you are doing is an attack on the dignity of the Druze and an attempt to ridicule them, and we will not allow you to do that.”
Samer concluded by threateningly saying “Hundreds of people approached me and promised to settle the score with you, and perhaps we will do so according to the law. We have never mocked anyone or laughed at the expense of others and their religion. Shachar should be ashamed of himself.”
Hassoun responded to Samer Ali by saying: “Hello brother. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. There was no intention to offend anyone, and I will delete this clip from all my media platforms.”
