Boxer Taylor defeats Bailey by unanimous decision and ends her career as undisputed champion

Irish boxer Katie Taylor brought her career to a close with a unanimous decision victory over Flora Bailey at Croke Park in Dublin, retiring as the undisputed world champion in the super lightweight division.

The 2012 Olympic gold medalist and most decorated female boxer appeared emotional as she headed to the ring for the last time, where the crowd roared with cheers as a series of fireworks lit up the night sky, signaling the end of a golden era in Irish boxing.

Two of the referees ruled the Irish team the winner with a score of 100-90, while the third referee ruled the score to be 98-91.

Taylor, 40, ended her professional career holding the WBA, WBA, WBC and IBF belts with an impressive record of 26 wins and one loss.

"We did it," Taylor said, greeting the 83,000 spectators who packed Croke Park to watch the fight. "I don't know of any other country that could sell 80,000 tickets (for a boxing match)."
