Mohammed Noor, the former star of the Saudi national team and Al-Ittihad, mocked the performance of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr, in the derby match against Al-Ittihad.
The match witnessed a funny moment involving Cristiano Ronaldo, as he appeared to be trying to read a sheet of instructions given by German coach Jens Wissing to Al-Ittihad player Danilo Pereira. The Al-Nasr captain stood behind the "Dean" player and tried to look at what was written on the sheet in an attempt to find out the instructions that the Al-Ittihad coach had asked his players to give.
Mohammed Noor said in media statements to the “Our Club” program that Al-Ittihad succeeded in surprising Al-Nasr through the high-pressure style, which gave them a clear advantage during the match.
The former Al-Ittihad star confirmed that Al-Nasr did not perform at the level expected of them, especially given the level of anticipation that preceded the match, while pointing out that Al-Ittihad put on a strong performance despite the incomplete registration of some of their new players.
His remarks about Ronaldo carried a clear hint of sarcasm, as he said: "We only saw Ronaldo when he was trying to read the coach's message that he gave to the player Danilo," referring to the scene in which the player appeared receiving instructions from the technical director through his teammate.
Al-Nasr suffered its first defeat in the competition after 5 rounds, while Al-Ittihad achieved its third victory in the Saudi Professional League.
Al-Nasr’s tally remained frozen at 12 points in second place, while Al-Ittihad raised its tally to 11 points to advance to fourth place.
