Five Palestinians were killed on Thursday, including four from the same family, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip , according to a medical source.
In detail, four citizens from the “Ahmed” family were killed when a violent Israeli air raid targeted the family’s home.
According to local sources, the martyrs are the father, Mo'men Ahmed, the mother, Hanin Saleh, and the two girls, Lana and Bana.
Sources close to the family reported that Mo'men and his family, who were living in displacement areas after leaving their home for fear of Israeli targeting operations, decided to spend a day in that house near the areas under occupation control, after a relative calm had recently prevailed in the area, and that only a few hours had passed since their arrival at the house, before the warplanes betrayed them.
The medical sources as saying that “another martyr arrived at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, along with a number of wounded, as a result of the occupation forces firing at citizens in areas north of the Strip.”
This was accompanied by artillery shelling that targeted several areas on the outskirts of the northern town of Beit Lahia. Israeli aircraft also fired on areas located northeast of the Gaza Strip, while gunfire was heard near the displacement areas in the Jabalia camp.
According to medical sources, a number of citizens were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation forces and their drones firing heavily on the shelters and tents of the displaced people in the camp, after the bullets tore through their tents.
In Gaza City, the occupation forces launched several attacks, including intermittent shelling of the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iyya neighborhoods, and targeted several areas beyond the “yellow line” with heavy gunfire. These attacks were similar to those that occurred in the northern and eastern parts of the central Gaza Strip.
Militia incursion
In this context, local sources stated that the bombing came after the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” discovered that elements of a militia supported by the occupation had entered, at dawn on Thursday, an area located in the vicinity of the Al-Khulafa Mosque in the Jabalia camp.
The report states that resistance fighters initiated heavy gunfire against militia members after ambushing them, before Israeli drones rushed in to cover the operation with gunfire and shelling that lasted for about two hours, to pave the way for the militia to complete the withdrawal.
The attack and shelling resulted in injuries to citizens residing in that area, and also led to the siege of many families inside their homes, whose surroundings were subjected to shelling.
The Israeli army, in cooperation with the Shin Bet security service, announced that it had attacked Hamas targets in Gaza, which it claimed involved destroying three weapons depots containing weapons, explosive devices, anti-tank missiles, and additional combat equipment.
Medical sources announced on Wednesday that the death toll in the Gaza Strip had risen to 73,669 martyrs, the majority of whom were children and women, since the start of the Israeli occupation's aggression on October 7, 2023.
The sources added that the number of injuries has risen to 174,652 since the start of the aggression, noting that many victims are still under the rubble, and ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them.
