The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) officially opened on Wednesday (September 9) in Beijing, as China intensifies its efforts to expand openness in services trade at the start of its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

The exhibition, which runs until September 13 at Shougang Park, a former industrial park that will also host the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, attracts participants from 90 countries, regions, and international organizations, with more than 1,800 companies exhibiting their products on site.
Among the participants were 473 Fortune Global 500 companies and leading companies across various industries, including Honeywell, Johnson & Johnson, and Siemens.
With the theme "Global Services, Shared Prosperity," this year's CIFTIS presented the first-ever Global Trade in Services Summit, co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
A series of forums and business meetings will also be held during the expo.
At the summit, Zimbabwean Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said CIFTIS is expected to create numerous investment opportunities in various fields, such as conferences, exhibitions, infrastructure, and digital services. He added that the event will help Zimbabwe identify opportunities for trade in services, build export capacity, and attract credible partners in the technology, finance, tourism, education, and healthcare sectors.
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment, and Industry Alexander Poulev stated at the summit that trade in services is an important pillar of China-Bulgaria relations.
"We want to see more Bulgarian products entering the Chinese market and more Bulgarian companies establishing long-term partnerships with Chinese companies," he said.
More than 100 new products and services will be debuted at the expo, covering areas such as information and communications, financial technology, healthcare, and smart digital technology.
