Guardiola, who led City to six Premier League titles and a historic Champions League title during his ten-year tenure (2016-2016), posted a message on his official Instagram account saying: "I want the fans to know that I am here, more than ever."
The Spanish coach, who left the team at the end of last season to be succeeded by Italian Enzo Maresca, added: "I stand, as I always have and always will, behind my team, the club owner, the chairman, Ferran Soriano (CEO), the players, the coaching staff, Enzo Maresca, and you, our unique fans... Let me be clear: we will get through this together."
Guardiola's message came after the Premier League announced that Manchester City had been found guilty of serious financial misconduct between 2009 and 2018.
According to the independent investigation committee, the investigations proved that the club entered into sham contracts with commercial sponsors to artificially inflate revenues and mislead sports authorities about its true financial situation in order to circumvent the Financial Fair Play rules adopted locally and in Europe, in addition to the club being found guilty of not cooperating with the league's investigations.
