She continued: "During the meeting, the strategic relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States were reviewed, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, in order to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries."
The two sides discussed the most prominent developments on the regional and international scenes, most notably the security and political developments in the region, the situation in Yemen, and the efforts being made regarding it, according to the same source.
The meeting addressed the importance of protecting the security of navigation and freedom of passage in international waterways, particularly the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, in order to contribute to the stability of the region and the continued flow of trade and global supply chains.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the Kingdom and the United States on issues of common interest, and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing regional crises and promoting security, peace and stability.
Fighting in Yemen between government forces and the Houthis has accelerated during September, leading to the Houthis seizing control of several vital centers in the governorates of Hodeidah and Taiz, including the strategic city of Mocha, and reaching the island of Mayyun overlooking the international maritime strait of Bab al-Mandab.
Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia escalated during September, after the group announced in July 2026 what it called a "maritime blockade" on the kingdom, and claimed responsibility for attacks with ballistic missiles and drones targeting Saudi sites and ships.
