Air defense units have received the latest Zubr systems, designed to protect facilities from drones. This was announced by the press office of the state corporation Rostec.
These systems for destroying aerial targets were developed by the Rostec subsidiary "High Precision Systems" and are designed to protect critical facilities and target small drones flying at low altitudes and attacking the front line.
Zubr independently detects aerial threats and transmits target designation data to the destruction systems. The system can operate independently or within integrated, multi-layered anti-drone defenses, serving as the last line of defense for larger systems, including the Pantsir air defense missile and gun system.
The system consists of four combat units, a command center, and a dedicated radar station. The radar detects targets of all sizes at a range of up to 1.5 km. Each unit is equipped with four 7.62 mm (PKT) or (Gushha) heavy machine guns, providing a dense barrage of fire.
The system operates around the clock in automated mode, automatically tracking the target after detection, requiring only the operator to issue the order to destroy it. The Zubr system is highly repairable in field conditions and can be deployed rapidly, which is crucial for maintaining constant combat readiness in remote locations.
