The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated: “We welcome and support the steps taken by 12 countries, led by the United Kingdom, France, and Canada, to ban trade and commercial relations with illegal settlements in the West Bank.”
The statement noted that Israel’s efforts to eliminate the two-state solution are intensifying daily, emphasizing that illegal settlements have become a systematic policy of occupation and have reached the point of threatening the very existence of a Palestinian state.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that “settler terrorism” has reached the level of ethnic cleansing.
The statement added: “Taking the necessary action against Israeli occupation activities has become a prerequisite for ensuring a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and establishing a just and lasting peace in the region. In this context, we expect all responsible members of the international community to take similar decisions.”
The Turkish Foreign Ministry affirmed that Turkey will continue its efforts to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with territorial contiguity and East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.
Earlier on Tuesday, the foreign ministers of 12 Western countries announced restrictions on trade with goods from settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Settlement activity has escalated since the current government, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, was formed in late 2022. According to Palestinian data, the government has approved the establishment of 104 new settlements and has already established 160 agricultural outposts in the West Bank.
During the first half of 2026, settlers carried out 3,488 attacks in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Authority's Commission against the Wall and Settlements.
These attacks resulted in the deaths of 17 Palestinians and the complete or partial displacement of 26 Bedouin and herding communities, in addition to the establishment of 42 new settlement outposts.
Approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers reside in 194 settlements and 400 outposts in the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
The West Bank has witnessed an escalation in settler attacks and Israeli military incursions, coinciding with the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which began in October 2013.
Israel has occupied the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, since 1967. The international community considers Israeli settlements built on occupied Palestinian territory illegal under international law, a position rejected by Tel Aviv.
In 1948, Israel was established on Palestinian land seized by armed Zionist militias who committed massacres and displaced at least 750,000 Palestinians before Tel Aviv occupied the remaining territory and refused to withdraw.
