UEFA has announced that Ethan Mbappe, the star of Lille, has been suspended for three Champions League matches after receiving a red card in his team's loss to Real Betis in the first round.
Mbappe had elbowed Betis player Nathan in a match that ended with the Spanish team winning 3-2 three weeks earlier.
The video footage captured Nathan uttering words as he walked behind Mbappe.
This was the third Champions League match for 19-year-old Ethan, who is the younger brother of Real Madrid and France star Kylian Mbappe.
The suspension will prevent Ethan Mbappe from playing in Lille's away game against Arsenal on October 13, as well as matches against Galatasaray in France and Bodø/Glimt in Norway. He will return to his team when they host Bayern Munich on November 25.
Mbappe is currently with the French under-21 national team participating in the qualifiers for the European Championship, which will be co-hosted by Albania and Serbia in June 2027.
