Europe faces energy crisis, Dmitriev predicts cooperation with Russia

Russia's Special Presidential Envoy for Foreign Economic Cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, said that Europe is currently facing a very serious energy crisis.
“Europe is facing a huge energy crisis,” Dmitriev said in a session at the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.

According to him, Europe is still buying gas from Russia even though prices have soared.

Dmitriev said the situation should not be forgotten.

He also added that restoring cooperation between Russia and Europe was inevitable.

"Many were initially surprised by our efforts to establish economic cooperation with the US. However, now they want to be involved in the process," Dmitriev said.

He believes that once Russia reaches more agreements with the US, European companies will be more proactive in their efforts to participate so as not to be left behind.

President Vladimir Putin met with US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff at the Constantine Palace, St. Petersburg.

The meeting was also attended by Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov and Dmitriev.
Dmitriev then revealed that Russia and the US are actively engaged in dialogue regarding a number of projects in the energy sector as well as the development of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.
