"So, there are four athletes participating in the tryout to earn points for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. They left Japan yesterday and went straight to the Netherlands," said Indonesian para-cycling coach Rizan Setyo Nugroho.

The four athletes are Muhammad Fadli Imammuddin, Tifan Abid Alana, Sufyan Saori, and Nur Fendi who will appear in the 2026 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, October 29 to November 1.

The world championships are an opportunity for Indonesia to collect points in an effort to secure a quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

However, Rizan said the coaching team did not set a medal target considering the competition they would face would be much tougher than the Asian Para Games.

"We're not targeting medals because our opponents are world-class. So we're hoping for the best possible position to earn as many points as possible in the world trials ," said Rizan.
