House members emphasize improvements to fuel distribution patterns in Bali

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives I Gusti Ngurah Kesuma Kelakan emphasized the importance of improving the distribution pattern of fuel oil (BBM) in Bali following limited supplies at a number of gas stations on the Island of the Gods.

"The problem isn't the spike  that I've seen, but rather the distribution pattern, which needs to be changed because  the spike has been calculated," said Kesuma Kelakan.

He explained that the anticipated surge had been calculated at 10-20 percent of the average daily consumption, for example, for Pertalite, which reaches around 2,200 kiloliters of consumption per day.

The member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) encouraged that gas stations experiencing stock crises be prioritized for distribution, for example in the Tabanan, Badung, and Denpasar Regencies.

Other regional gas stations also need to strengthen their fuel stock availability, which is supplied from two fuel terminals in Bali, namely Manggis in Karangasem Regency and Sanggaran in Denpasar.

Then, at the Manggis Fuel Terminal, there is a stock of Pertalite reaching 10,300 kiloliters supported by a fleet of 72 tanker trucks whose distribution to gas stations is currently being expedited.

Specifically for the Denpasar, Badung and Tabanan areas, there are 104 gas stations.

Meanwhile, Bali Governor Wayan Koster met with Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri at the Sanggaran Denpasar Fuel Terminal to discuss accelerating fuel distribution in Bali, Tuesday afternoon.

Simon said the long queues were caused by delays due to problems on the ship during the fuel loading and unloading process.

He then apologized to the Balinese people for the limited supply that had caused long queues in the past few days.
