After the match in Copenhagen, Veiga, who started alongside Ruben Dias, received repeated questions about Ronaldo's situation, before looking at a media official from the Portuguese Football Federation, and then explaining to journalists that he could not comment on the matter.
Vega said: "I am very close to Cristiano Ronaldo, and he knows that I have great affection for him, but I have been instructed that I cannot speak about this matter."
As the questions continued, the defender apologized to the journalists, saying: "I can't talk about this, I'm sorry, I really can't speak."
These instructions come amid the controversy surrounding Ronaldo's departure from the national team camp before the match against Denmark, following developments in his relationship with coach Jorge Jesus.
Despite the hype surrounding the team, the Portuguese national team put on a strong performance in Copenhagen, turning a deficit into a 4-2 victory, to maintain a perfect record in the group.
On a personal level, Veiga continues to play a key role with the Portuguese national team under Jesus, having played every minute of the first three matches during the current international break.
The young defender, born in 2003, stressed that wearing the national team jersey is a great honor for him, saying: "I work every day to give my best, whether with the club or the national team. Playing for Portugal is the greatest honor any Portuguese player can experience, and I will continue to work to improve."
Vega also praised the level shown by the team against Denmark, considering that the victory carries special importance after Portugal's 0-1 loss to the same team in the quarter-finals of the European Nations League in 2025.
He added that the team has become more in tune with Jesus' ideas, with more time available to work under the coach, stressing that the focus is now on the upcoming match against Norway.
Portugal will host Norway on Sunday at the "Dragão" stadium, in a match in which the Portuguese team will seek to continue its positive results and strengthen its position at the top of Group D.
