Portugal secured their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League after a 2-1 victory over Norway on Sunday evening.
Ronaldo left the Portugal national team camp a few days ago and stated via his official social media accounts that he would clarify matters later, after being excluded from participating against Norway in the second round of the Nations League group stage.
Jesus spoke frankly about Ronaldo's situation, stressing that the future of the Al-Nassr star with the national team is still open and that the final decision regarding his continuation with Portugal rests with the player himself.
Jorge Jesus said in statements published by the Portuguese newspaper "A bola": "I don't know what will happen. For me, all possibilities are open. Ronaldo must make a decision about his future before the Portugal squad is announced."
He added: "If he is playing and wants to join the national team, he can return whenever he wants, why not? It was just a misunderstanding and in my opinion it is easy to resolve. I have no objection to that. When will it be resolved? I don't know, we will see, the match has just ended."
The problems began after the match against Norway, where Ronaldo remained on the bench throughout the game despite warming up, while Gonzalo Ramos scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory.
Tensions between the player and Jesus escalated after the coach announced that Ronaldo would also be absent from the starting lineup against Denmark, stressing that he would not change his tactical decisions to please anyone.
The crisis is still far from being resolved, as reports indicate that Jesus is ready to hold new talks with Ronaldo in an attempt to end the dispute, but the Portuguese national team captain has not yet responded to this invitation.
