Manos, the AI agent that Meta has been considering acquiring for several months, has received a new update that gives it more capabilities, including the ability to create and deploy personal agents through a separate application belonging to the company, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The company named the new agent "Manus 2.0" and also made available a special side application called "Q", which allows users to customize, create, and then deploy AI agents. the "Q" application have the same powers and capabilities as "Manus," and they have their own digital wallets, electronic mailboxes, and phone numbers, which allows them to communicate directly with users and perform tasks separately from the user without exposing their data to risk.
Manos was one of the first companies to introduce artificial intelligence agents in the form we know today, to the point that the American company Meta tried to acquire it, but the laws stopped it last April.
Later, Meta launched its own AI agent that performs functions similar to "Manus" under the name "Muse", but its work is still limited to the United States and Canada so far.
A completely new architecture
The company describes the new update as more than just improvements to how AI agents work; it says it's a completely new architecture that gives the agent greater capabilities, according to a report by the American tech website "The Next Web".
Manus calls the new architecture “Cascade,” and it allows agents to access their own tools when they need to, thereby reducing the rate of token consumption by about 23% compared to previous models, according to the company’s internal tests.
The company also added a new automation feature for AI agents. This feature works automatically when the agent detects a change in one of the connected services such as Slack or Gmail.
The company also allows users to purchase a cloud environment in which the agent operates automatically all day, even when the main computer on which the agent operates is turned off.
The application's name on the computer also changes; it is now called "Manus Studio," and it provides a shared workspace that includes documents, websites, games, and videos that the agent has worked on.
The most notable feature of Manus's latest update is that it gives personal AI agents their own separate email addresses and phone numbers, along with a digital wallet with a predefined budget that the agent can directly utilize.
This feature allows AI agents to operate completely independently of the user, transforming from a tool that executes the user's commands and leaves the final decisions to him, to a tool that accomplishes all the work and waits for the user's response.
This feature has a large number of uses, as it can be relied upon, for example, to communicate with companies and businesses and book visits via their email or WhatsApp, and the agent’s phone number can also be used to communicate directly with any external party.
The agent can now also purchase products and complete bookings via his digital wallet, without fear of the agent spending more than the allowed limit or his money being stolen.
