The Portuguese Football Federation's regulations state that leaving the training camp without permission could result in a suspension ranging from one to six matches, along with a fine of between 500 and 1000 euros.
These developments come after Ronaldo left the camp following his being left on the bench for the Nations League match against Norway, sparking controversy about his relationship with the coaching staff and his position in the national team.
Coach Jorge Jesus explained that he was not obligated to include Ronaldo, despite the latter's request to come down and warm up, stressing that the decision to participate was up to his technical vision.
In a related context, a poll conducted by the Portuguese website "A Bola" regarding Ronaldo's future with the national team showed that more than 70% of participants do not want the player to return to represent the national team.
